It’s the kind of space where every beam, burst, and cue matters, which made it the perfect venue to put the Master FX Mystic Mini to the test. Teaming up with Lighting Designer Mike Berger of Innovative Intensity, who is responsible for the lighting design of the resident production, we brought the units into the tent to see how far we could push them in a space that demands both precision and atmosphere. How the Mystic Mini Performed

First impressions? The 50-second warm-up time is every bit as quick as promised. From cold start to haze on deck, the Mini was ready to roll quickly. Moving from preheat to dispersion, it filled the tent faster than expected for its size, and the noise floor stayed impressively low throughout.

“It’s small and quiet enough to be easily concealed on or near-stage.” Berger said.

Even after extended runtime, the Mystic Mini didn’t flinch. The output stayed consistent, and the dual-fluid setup made a clear difference. The Nebulous fluid provided a soft, even haze that hung beautifully in the mirrors and lights of the tent, while the Obscure fluid pushed things to near whiteout, reducing visibility and cutting beams with cinematic density.

“For the size, the output was killer,” Berger added. “You’d expect something this compact to struggle in a bigger room.”
